Dispute Resolution services include General Dispute Resolution projects as well as Superior Court identified priorities including Small Claims Mediation, Guardianship Mediation, and Unlawful Detainer/Civil Harassment Mediation.
General Dispute Resolution
The goal is to provide an alternative forum for parties to receive mediation, conciliation, and arbitration services as an alternative to more costly, time-consuming, and complex formalized procedures.
Superior Court-Identified Priorities
Center for Human Development
The Community Mediation Project provides mediation and conciliation services to landlords and tenants, consumers and merchants, neighbors, public agencies, citizen groups, families, animal disputes, family transition, and organizations.
The Guardianship Mediation Program provides mediation services to clients referred by the Probate Commissioner for resolution of child custody, child guardianship and visitation issues in guardianship matters.

Congress of Neutrals
The Victim Offender Reconciliation Program (VORP) Pilot Project provides a forum for reconciliation and facilitates recovery of civil restitution from juveniles subject to, or potentially subject to, juvenile probation referrals to be made by or through the Contra Costa County Probation Department, local police departments and other community agencies, in an effort to reduce recidivism.
Congress of Neutrals also provides mediation for small claims, civil harassment and unlawful detainer cases.
