Placement Unit Duties and Responsibilities

Probation Officer Assignments
The Probation Officers assigned to the unit are responsible for monthly face-to-face contacts with the children, their care providers and their parents. Our department has recently set up a video conference monitor so that parents or deputies can have immediate contact and visits with children who are in the programs or at out-of-county ranches.

They are also responsible to monitor the children’s progress in placement and update the court with the appropriate reports. Should a child fail placement, the Probation Officer is responsible to either re-place the child or submit a new recommendation at disposition to the court.
