The Domestic Violence Unit is comprised of a team of experienced attorneys and investigators who take a multidisciplinary approach to cases involving a pattern of coercive behavior that includes physical abuse or the threat of physical abuse between intimate partners.

Domestic violence includes:
  • Psychosocial abuses
  • Assault
  • Progressive social isolation
  • Deprivation
  • Intimidation
  • Economic coercion

Domestic violence does not discriminate against race, class, gender, religious affiliation, age, economic status, or lifestyle choice.

Domestic violence prosecution is a priority of this office. The County Board of Supervisors also consistently supports our efforts and has the only Zero Tolerance Program in the state.

If you, or a person you know, are a victim of domestic violence, report it to your local police agency. STAND! Against Domestic Violence is also available and they may address many of your concerns. Their crisis line is 888-215-5555. Visit there website here.
