Inspection & Control Division

Overview
The Inspection and Control Division will conduct inspections of all elements and functions of the Office of the Sheriff. Inspections and audits of specific operations will provide comprehensive information to the Administration. The information can then be utilized to ensure Department objectives are met and law enforcement services are delivered in an efficient manner, consistent with existing policy and law.

Inspection and Control exists to assist management in the effective discharge of their responsibilities by reviewing activities and furnishing them with:
  • Analysis
  • Appraisals
  • Counsel
  • Recommendations
  • Pertinent comments

This involves going beyond examination of accounting or other records to obtain a full understanding of the operation under review.

Inspection and Control is instrumental in organizational development by surveying current law enforcement management theory and practice to compare department procedures and systems against those in other jurisdictions.
