Maintenance of a long-range policy planning process to anticipate and respond to socioeconomic changes, new legal mandates and local priorities. Along with staffing the commissions and committees listed above, the Advance Planning Divisions responsibilities include:
 | Processing General Plan Amendments, Growth Management monitoring; |
| Considering amendments to the County General Plan and keeping the Plan current; |
| Developing specific plans to further goals of the General Plan; |
| Implementing the General Plan by following through on implementation measures; and |
| Developing policy issues and preparing reports to assist in the evolution of the County policy. |
