Kensington Urgency Interim Ordinance Extended & Modified  - Effective August 10, 2004
The Kensington Urgency Interim Ordinance was originally passed on June 29, 2004. It prohibits certain residential development within the Kensington Area. The Board of Supervisors extended the Ordinance with a modification to Exemption, Section IV. The modified Kensington Urgency Interim Ordinance (No. 2004-33) is extended to June 28, 2005. This extension is for 10-months 15-days and is consistent with state law §65858 (a), a more limited extension is not provided for under this statute. The Community Development Department is expected to schedule a public hearing before the County Planning Commission by October of this year so that the Commission may consider recommendations for the new Kensington Combining District Ordinance.

Kensington Urgency Interim Ordinance - Effective June 29, 2004
On June 29, 2004 the Board of Supervisors passed an interim ordinance that affects the “Kensington Area” only.  The interim ordinance prohibits the processing of entitlements or the issuance of permits for (1) new residences on undeveloped lots or (2) new residential structures, additions to residential structures, or new or modified residential accessory buildings on lots which conform to the lot width and lot area requirements of the applicable zoning district.   The Board Order includes a brief background history of this project, defines the “Kensington Area” and includes the Urgency Ordinance (No. 2004-28).
