You Have Selected Fluorescent Lighting Ballasts

Fluorescent lighting ballasts contain mercury and some contain PCBs (Polychlorinated Biphenyls), which are both considered hazardous and therefore illegal to dispose of with regular trash. Fluorescent lights are better for the environment because they are more energy efficient than incandescent lights (a 28-watt fluorescent light produces 1,020 pounds less carbon dioxide over its life, equal to saving 53 gallons of gasoline).
