Improve the quality of life in Contra Costa County by developing, in partnership with other public and private sector partners, new resources to assist the County in providing adequate services and facilities to its communities.

Redevelopment - The design and implementation of plans for rehabilitating blighted areas within the County with the goal of improving the physical, environmental and economic viability of those areas. The County redevelopment areas include: North Richmond, Bay Point, Rodeo, and the Pleasant Hill Bart station area.

Housing Finance - The provision of housing finance programs designed to provide decent, affordable housing to County residents.

Community Development Block Grants (CDBG)- Federally funded program that provides funds for upgrading housing opportunities, facilities/infrastructures, and public services in lower income neighborhoods.

Economic Development - Develop and implement programs to enhance the economic base of the County, and to improve employment opportunities.
