INTRODUCTORY RESUME FOR GAYLE B. UILKEMA

Supervisor Uilkema has a long history of public service. She was elected to five terms as a Lafayette City Council Member and served four terms as Mayor of Lafayette. Gayle is in her fourth term as a County Supervisor. She was re-elected in the June 2008 Primary Election. Gayle represents District 2 on the Board of Supervisors, a diverse district of 10 communities, including the six incorporated cities of Danville, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, San Ramon and the western portion of Walnut Creek, as well as the communities of Alamo, Canyon, Castle Hill, Parkmead, Rossmoor, Saranap, and unincorporated Walnut Creek.

 Gayle represents Contra Costa County on many state, regional and local agencies such as:

Gayle is a former Adjunct Professor in the field of Public Administration and has taught graduate school at Cal State East Bay, JFK University, and UC Berkeley. She is the mother of two grown daughters, one of whom is a Deputy District Attorney and the other is a family practice physician in San Diego, California.
