Kate Rauch, who works for John half time, is an East Bay native, currently living in Albany. Prior to joining Supervisor Gioia's staff, she worked for the Contra Costa Times newspaper, primarily covering urban East Bay communities and issues. She's written for numerous websites, and contributed to major newspapers including the Washington Post and Newsday - and continues to work as a freelancer writer/editor. She also worked as an anthropologist/ archeologist in Alaska for six years. Kate graduated from J.F. Kennedy High School in Richmond, has a Bachelor's degree in cultural geography from UC-Berkeley and a Master's degree in journalism from Columbia University. She's the mom of a daughter and son.
Kate works part-time for Supervisor Gioia, and is the editor of this website, his newsletters, eblasts and other correspondence. She's also the primary contact for Kensington.
