Ed serves as a Policy Analyst. He is responsible for the Supervisor's communications with the media, the public and other governmental entities. Ed was raised in East County where he still resides. He earned a Bachelor's in Architecture with an emphasis on sociological factors in environmental design from the College of Environmental Design at the University of California, Berkeley. He was a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army before joining the Army7 Reserve. Prior to joining the Supervisor's staff, he spent 28 years in journalism working as a reporter and editor for the Phillipine News, the Oakland Tribune, Alameda News Group the Ledger Dispatch and the Contra Costa Times where he was able to pursue his interests in politics and policy-making, especially in regards to the environment, housing, transportation and regional planning.
