Please remember not to deduct more than 50% of the non-custodial parent's net income unless the court order specifies a higher percentage. Net income is the amount after making mandatory deductions such as: State, Federal and local taxes, Social Security taxes, Medicare taxes, Disability Insurance and mandatory retirement. If a health insurance order is also served with the child support order, it is a mandatory deduction.
