Kristin Connelly serves as the Chief of Staff. Kristin is an experienced advocate, non-profit leader and employment lawyer with diverse policy expertise in governance reform, public health, hunger and the environment. A native of Contra Costa, Kristin started her career in the non-profit sector in southern California before working in various capacities both within and outside of government in Washington, D.C., while earning her Master's in Public Policy (MPP) degree at Georgetown. Kristin returned to Contra Costa in 2010 after nine years in New York City and joined the staff of California Forward. Kristin became the executive director of the California Forward Action Fund in 2012.
Kristin has a BA in political science from UCLA, an MPP from Georgetown and a JD from Fordham University School of Law.
Laura Case serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff. Her responsibilities include maintaining the Supervisor’s calendar of events, providing staff support for the Contra Costa Centre Area Municipal Advisory Council, as well as responding to constituents’ concerns.
Prior to joining Supervisor Mitchoff’s staff, Laura worked for former County Supervisors Mark DeSaulnier and Susan Bonilla. After earning a BS in Accounting from Cal State East Bay, Laura worked in the accounting field for many years before joining Contra Costa County. She is a longtime resident of Concord having both grown up in the area and raised her family here.
Lia Bristol serves as a District Representative. Prior to joining Supervisor Mitchoff’s staff, Lia worked as a Representative to State Senator Mark DeSaulnier in his Walnut Creek district office. During her tenure there, she convened the East Bay Autism Regional Task Force and was staff to the Senate Select Committee on Autism and Related Disorders.
Lia began her work in the area of health policy while working at The Greenlining Institute in Berkeley as a Health Program Manager, primarily focused on advocacy & research.
Lia has a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside and is currently a graduate student at Saint Mary’s College in Moraga where she is earning her Masters degree.
Mara Gold serves as a District Representative. Originally from Contra Costa County, Mara has worked on various campaigns throughout the country, including local Bay Area elections, statewide bond measures for hospitals and schools, and as a Press Assistant in St. Louis, Missouri for President Obama's 2008 campaign. Prior to joining Supervisor Mitchoff's staff, Mara worked as a Representative to Congressman Jerry McNerney in his Pleasanton district office where she worked on numerous initiatives, focusing on developing the clean technology economy and managing constituent services. Mara covers a number of different areas for Supervisor Mitchoff, including Concord, Pleasant Hill and economic development.
Mara has a BA in Journalism and a Minor in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Lisa Chow serves as a District Representative. Prior to joining the Supervisor’s staff, Lisa worked in the office for a California State Senator and Assemblyman. Lisa has worked as a bookkeeper for a local Concord small business, and also as an editor for a local photographer. Lisa attended California State University, Sacramento and has lived in Contra Costa County since 2004.
