Pet Emergency Preparedness (PEP)

Be Prepared!

Be prepared to manage your pet's needs as well as your own during an emergency or disaster situation by attending a Pet First Aid & CPR class.

Our next available class is scheduled for Thursday, September 9, 2010, from 6 pm to 9:30 pm. The class will be held at our Martinez Shelter, 4800 Imhoff Place, in the Diane Iwasa Classroom. The class is taught by a certified Red Cross instructor and all students will receive proof of class participation upon completion of the three and one-half hour training. Pre-registration is required and the cost for the class is $50 per person, payable through PayPal at the Pet First Aid & CPR Registration website.  Please DO NOT bring your pets to class. Mannequins are used for demonstration and practice.

If you have any questions or for more information, please call the Animal Services Humane Education Department at 925-335-8340, or you can email us at .

The Pet First Aid & CPR classes are sponsored by Contra Costa Animal Services Department, CART (County Animal Response Team), and the Lamorinda DART (Disaster Animal Response Team) organization. Thank you for taking the time to prepare yourself and your pets to "Save the Whole Family."
